It is recommended to use Direct thermal for these printers as this is what the GK420d printers use and easier to configure.

OneFlo (Autoprint) and SendIT use the Windows Driver settings to spool a job to the printer. If the Windows Driver Preferences is left at Thermal Transfer Mode, it will switch the printer's firmware settings to "Thermal Transfer" as Windows submits the job to it. The Zebra believing that it needs to print as Thermal Transfer mode will expect a ribbon to do the thermal transfer, and may eventually throw a "Conditional Error Ribbon Out" when a ribbon is not present. |
